Cabinet art selected to beautify Buller’s neighbourhoods
Two cabinets in Reefton and two in Westport are set to become works of art, thanks to the talents of local artists.
Buller District Council Communications and Community Services Officer Georgia Wilkinson says the four designs chosen for this year’s round include tuna (eels), jellyfish and Reefton as “the town of light” in both winter and summer.
“We have been really impressed with the standard of designs that have been submitted each year and it is getting harder and harder to narrow it down to just a few.” she says.
These four will bring the total number of cabinets decorated in Buller to 13.
Chorus Stakeholder Communications Manager Jo Seddon says it has been great to once again work with Buller District Council to bring art to the community.
“The project has been particularly embraced in Buller and once again we have some excellent designs coming through,” she says. “We can’t wait to see them come to life on the cabinets.”
As the weather improves, the artists will be out painting their cabinets, so keep an eye out for them.
