If you want to purchase a property it is recommended that you obtain a LIM before finalising the purchase. It provides a summary of all the known information held by Council that relates to a specific property.
As a vendor, obtaining a LIM you will obtain information about any outstanding requirements i.e., building consents or resource consents that may need to be completed or signed off.
If you are considering buying a property for redevelopment, it is suggested you check your proposal with Council’s Planning Department to find out the relevant rules that would apply under the District Plan before committing.
To discuss your proposal, phone Council and ask to either speak to, or make an appointment with, the Duty Planner.
